I had recently traveled by American Airlines flight from Dallas Fort worth to Baltimore Washington international airport as I was visiting my brother in law staying at Baltimore. I am a regular passenger of American Airlines and that is why I felt a need to write an article on review of our said flight to Baltimore for the benefits of all my friends and readers.
The city of Dallas Fort worth is the main hub of American Air lines and that is why more number of daily flights are available for most of the major cities of USA at quiet reasonable rates. We had booked our tickets for Baltimore before around two months. It is more likely to get the most competitive rates of the flight if you book your air tickets of American Air Lines around two months in advance. We were able to get the return ticket to Baltimore at the rates of $239 per head inclusive of all the taxes. These rates can be considered reasonable looking to the peak season charges, which are normally in the range of around $300 or so. It would be better to book your air tickets through other web sites, rather than the American air lines own web site, to obtain slightly economical rates. We had booked our ticket at the web site www.orbitz.com. The rates of American Air lines for the same flight were around $5 higher per ticket. You must keep your credit card ready with you while booking the tickets on line. Try checking various fares with different date’s combination in order to get the most economical rates. For example, the rates for the weekend and the public holidays will come obviously higher. Once the tickets are booked, please make a note of your record locator number as you would need it all the time till you complete your journey.
Our flight was at 12.20 pm from Dallas Fort worth. We reached the airport at around 10.45 am. American airlines advise reporting before 90 minutes for the domestic flights and 120 minutes for the international flights if you have the checked in baggage. We already had checked in on line before 24 hours as per the facility offered. So, we only needed to check in one bag at the airport. This procedure was quickly completed through the self check in kiosks available at the airport. The security set up is tight now a days as 9/11 is approaching near. You need to remove your shoes, cell phone, pouch, spectacles, and any other items you have in your pockets and place them on the plastic tray to pass through the screening machine. The laptop/DVD player etc. also need to be removed from its container and put it in the tray to pass through the belt. It is always better to reach your departure gate as soon as possible after the security check and relax there till the boarding is announced. The boarding takes place in the order of the group number mentioned in your boarding card. The boarding generally begins before thirty minutes of the departure time. The standard of cleanliness inside the air craft was very nice and the latest issue of September 2009 of American Way was placed on each seat even though it was first September only. The flight attendants helped us to place our hand bags on the top self. The passengers must select the size of their handbags strictly within the size specified by the air lines as otherwise it may be very difficult to arrange such bags in the top shelf of an aircraft. The staff of the airlines was also very polite, and courteous. The soft drinks were offered in the flight. The alcoholic beverages are charged $5 per drink. The food items are also served in an aircraft at around $5 per plate. The captain of the aircraft was also giving the detailed information on the weather, vital places on the way, and the expected time of landing at Baltimore from time to time. The total flight time was around three hours and we landed at the Baltimore airport exactly at 4 pm, 15 minutes ahead of the scheduled time. The connecting passage was placed immediately and the all the passengers were out of the air craft within ten minutes. The baggage collection station number was also conveyed in the aircraft only before exiting from the aircraft. We also received our bag almost immediately on reaching to the baggage collection station. Our entire flight experience was really nice and pleasant. American Airlines also help you to book your hotel and the hired car if you need them. Only one aspect was slightly negative and that was very less number of wheel chairs were available at the boarding gate and the needy people were struggling to get their wheel chairs.
Though, there may be lots of options available for the flights of various carriers to an individual, it would be better if you select American Air lines to enjoy the experience of a pleasant flight.
