Lower back pain is a common problem for many. Finding the right treatment can sometimes be rather difficult. Many will seek out Chiropractic care for their lower back pain. Doing so, you may come across a product called Biofreeze. Biofreeze is a pain relieving gel that your local chiropractor may be using on their clients. Biofreeze can be used for back pain, sore muscles, joint pain and arthritis. I decided to try it out for my lower back pain.
Biofreeze is an over the counter product, but is not sold in retail stores. Most will have to go to their local chiropractor or physical therapist to purchase this product. Biofreeze is a cooling gel that is greaseless, stainless and has a vanishing scent. Biofreeze is a form of cyrotherapy, which is the cold method of pain relief. Biofreeze contains Ilex which is from the holly family is also known as Yerba mate. Biofreeze also contains natural menthol, which provides the cooling relief. Biofreeze’s inactive ingredients are carbomer, FD&C blue #1, FD&C yellow #5, glycerine, herbal extract (Ilex paraguarlenis), Isopropoyl alcohol USP, methylparaben, natural camphor USP (used for scent), propylene, silicon dioxide, triethanolamine and water. Biofreeze is a product of Performance Health INC. which is located in Pennsylvania. The Biofreeze product is made in the U.S.A. and they do not use animal testing.
After my trip to the Chiropractor’s I brought home a few samples of Biofreeze. I have never heard of Biofreeze before seeing it at the Chiropractors office. The small sample packs are only .5 grams, about enough for one use. I opened one package up and spread a thin layer across my lower back. Right away I felt a cooling sensation; I could tell that this product was going to bring relief. After awhile the only thing that I was feeling was a nice cool sensation on my lower back and not pain. This product did take away my pain as promised.
The only problem with this product is that it’s not available at retail stores. Do a search in your area for local chiropractors and ask if they sell Biofreeze. Also remember to take precautions while using Biofreeze and do not get in eyes or mucus membranes. Also do not use this product on open wounds are abrasions. Ask your doctor before use if pregnant, breastfeeding or if using on a child under 2 years of age. For more information on this product visit biofreeze.com
I do not have any affiliation with Performance Health INC. This review is my personal experience with this product.
