I had an opportunity to visit the city of Baltimore to stay with my brother in law’s family for few days. As our entire family is fond of Indian food items, we visited one well-known Indian restaurant, Mount Everest, which is situated at 7927 # C Belair Road, Baltimore, MD-21236 having phone number as 410 668 2264. We went to this restaurant for a buffet lunch during the weekend days. I have tried to cover a brief review on our said visit to this lavish Indian fine dining restaurant in this article.
We visited this restaurant for its famous buffet lunch during the weekend days. We reached the restaurant at around 12.30 pm and were able to get the table almost immediately. We ordered few soft drinks amongst us prior to starting of buffet lunch. The drinks were served within 5 minutes and then, we started our buffet lunch. The two choices of soups, namely Vegetable Soup and the Chicken Soup were available for us. There were around five types of salads, raitas, and various types of tasty chutneys as starters. In addition to that, Vegetable Samosa, Vegetable Pakodas, Chicken Tikkas, Masala Papads, and Fish Pakodas were also available. The main dishes consisted of three vegetables, namely Aloo Mutter, Paneer Masala, and Chana Masala. The non vegetarian main items consisted of Chicken Curry, Tandoori Chicken, Mutton Masala, and the Eggs Curry. The hot nans were served to all the guests at their respective tables. There were two types of Dals served in the buffet, normal Gujarati Dal and spicy Punjabi type of Dal. The rice was also served in two varieties like plain rice, and the tasty vegetable Biryani. We really enjoyed all these varieties, which were cooked in traditional Indian style. This restaurant also serves traditional Chinese dishes, Nepalese dishes, and the Tibetian dishes on E La Carte basis during the evening dinner. No buffet is served during the evening dinner time. Once we enjoyed most of the food delicacies served at the buffet and then, we were ready to try desert items. There were three desert items served in this royal buffet. These items were hot Gulab Jamuns, chilled Masala Khir, and the most delicious Carrot Halwa. All these deserts were cooked in traditional Indian style and were loved by all of us. The service was also quiet quick and efficient and the empty plates were removed from each table in time. The refill of chilled water was also well timed. The stock of the items at the buffet table was also maintained very well so as to avoid the stock out condition. The buffet table arrangement was also very impressive and decorative. The cost of this buffet lunch is $8.99 for an adult. The other special varieties of Seafood, Chicken, Lamb, and the Fish are also served at this restaurant at the cost of around $12 per order. The South Indian preparations like Dosai, Uttapams, Medu Vadas, and Idlis are also served at the restaurant during the evening hours.
The main positive aspect of this restaurant was the separation of the two sections, namely dining area, and the buffet table area, with the help of the curtains. Such facility really helped us all to enjoy our lunch in privacy. This restaurant remains open from 11 am to 10 pm every day. The buffet lunch is available from 12 noon to 3 pm, on all seven days. The restaurant has sitting capacity of around 80 persons. The rest room facilities are also nice and decent. Ample parking space is also available just out side the restaurant. The carryout facilities are also provided at this restaurant. The party orders are also taken by this restaurant for any occasions like birthdays, marriages, and other such social events. Only slight negative aspect of this restaurant is its same and monotonous food items served in the buffet lunch. For example, the desert items are kept same for a long time and the frequent visitors would get bored of them.
Our entire family loved this buffet lunch at this fine dining restaurant and decided to visit it again at the next available opportunity. Based on our own experience, I certainly recommend this restaurant to all my AC friends and readers to visit this fine dining Indian restaurant, at least once during their next visit to Baltimore.
