Arriving At Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee
Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee is easy to locate as it is right off of the highway exit. Hotel Preston has a large well lit parking lot, a convenient drop off loop, and parking is free. Upon arriving at Hotel Preston, we noted a bell man unloading the car in front of us, due to our spunky toddlers we opted to unload on our own.
The front entrance of Hotel Preston offers a large contemporary decorated seating area, bathrooms, and a separate front desk. We arrived around 5:30pm when the hotel appeared to be at least 3/4 booked. It was a busy time for check in but the two front desk clerks were quickly checking customers in and sending them on their way. We checked in in less than 5 minutes and were given a brief overview of the amenities offered at Hotel Preston.
The only glitch in our arrival and check-in at Hotel Preston was that the desk clerk neglected to mention (or it is possible we were not listening as the desk clerks were superb) that the room key would be needed to activate the elevator. We were given a room on the ninth floor and the elevator was the sensible option. We discovered upon entering the elevator that my son was afraid to ride in it. We had already placed our luggage in the elevator and with my son screaming, we tried to figure out why the doors shut but the elevator would not move.
Finally, we were able to get our key out and get the elevator moving up to the ninth floor.
Our Room At Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee
We opted for a room at Hotel Preston with two double beds, our other option was one king bed. The room was exceptionally clean, smelled pleasant, and was already a cool temperature despite the 90 plus degrees outside. The room was painted a mustard yellow, the furnishings were done in a chocolate brown and maroon, and the linens were crisp white. Our room at Hotel Preston had a fairly large television, a computer desk, along with the other standard features like a small closet and bathroom.
The bed was soft yet firm and exceptionally comfortable to sleep on. The pillows were plentiful with four per bed, the pillows cradled my head perfectly. I noticed in the amenities book, Hotel Preston offers a pillow menu, although I did not ‘order’ from it. The television was large and easy to operate with several channels available. The bathroom was smaller than I am used to but adequate with an average size bathtub, a sunflower style shower head, and a coffee maker in the bathroom.
The view from the ninth floor at Hotel Preston was nice although we were on the side that only faced the parking lot and some trees. I had read on an internet review that the noise from the airport was slightly bothersome, I do not remember noticing the airplanes.
The only down side to our room was the extra cost associated with the use of Hotel Preston wireless internet. I paid the $8.95 per 24 hours for unlimited wireless access, but I was not happy about the extra charge when most hotels offer this service free.
The Service & Extra’s At Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee
The pool at Hotel Preston is outside and fairly big, I believe it goes from 3 feet to 9 foot deep. The pool area is clean and comfortable with tables and chairs available but no shade. I did not use the exercise room but others were using it and it looked spacious with up to date equipment. The meeting and party rooms downstairs were elegant.
Hotel Preston boasts 24 hour room service which we did not order but the pizza sounded good. The rest of the menu sounded great as well but it was a little pricey as would be expected.
The website for Hotel Preston states they offer: dry cleaning, complementary shuttle service, pet friendliness, a you want it you got it button, and much more.
We went to the front desk because we could not use the television but it was user error, not the television. The staff was so outgoing and ready to do whatever we needed to make our stay perfect. We also inquired about the pool by calling down to the desk and again they were ready and willing to do whatever we needed.
Hotel Preston in Nashville, Tennessee; A Grand Hotel
We booked out stay at Hotel Preston on Priceline.com, it was rated a 3.5 star hotel. I was reluctant to believe that we were able to get this hotel for such a deal (a little over half the listed price) and I just did not believe it could be a 3.5 star hotel. After staying at the Hotel Preston, my husband wants to go back without the kids and we both are sure that Hotel Preston is in fact a 3.5 star hotel.
