The Richmond Gang Rape 911 tape is harrowing. The Richmond Gang rape 911 tape is the 911 call that notified police about the Richmond gang-rape incident. The teen that called 9-1-1 didn’t actually see the victim herself, but heard other students talk about a naked girl in the courtyard. She decided to call the police.
Had “Maggie”, as she identified herself in the 911 tape not called police, the victim of the Richmond gang rape could very well have died. The 16 year old student was raped by at least 6 individuals while dozens of others watched. She went through 2 to 2 1/2 hours of brutal attacks, all the while no one had the common decency to call the police.
Seven suspects have been arrested in the case. One of the suspects was released due to lack of evidence. One of the remaining six Richmond gang rape suspects pleaded “not guilty” to various rape charges, and the remaining five suspects have not entered pleas at this time.
According to Mercury News, the “15 year old” gang rape victim is actually 16 years old. Police initially thought she was 15. Furthermore, the individual that called 911 simply identified herself as “Maggie.”
The LA Times published some of the transcript of “Maggie’s” 911 tape.
Dispatcher: “Is she on the school property?”
Caller: “She’s in the back by the dumpsters.”
Dispatcher: “Is she saying anything?”
Caller: “She’s probably intoxicated because she’s naked.”
Dispatcher: “Is she black or white?”
Caller: “We haven’t seen her. We heard that from two of our friends. We didn’t want to go back there because we’re scared.”
Dispatcher: “Do we know if there’s anybody around her?”
Caller: “People who’ve passed by there have seen her, but nobody wants to call the cops. So we decided to call.”
Dispatcher: “How old do you think she is?”
Caller: “They say she was, like, a ninth-grader, like about 15, 16.”
Dispatcher: “What’s your name?”
Dispatcher: “OK, Maggie. We’ll get someone out there.”
Thankfully, Maggie made the call. The victim of the Richmond Gang rape was in the hospital for five days, and subsequently released. She and her family recently issued a statement to the public to turn their negative feelings into positive change.
What the suspects did to the victim is harrowing. Even more harrowing is the fact that people could just walk by and watch as a young girl was all but killed, and do nothing. The suspects are very disturbed sociopaths. I have to wonder what type of people the passer-bys are as well.
