Ryan Jenkins found dead. Now that’s a headline that will not come as a shock to many people. Somehow it seems fitting that the denouement to the the tragic Jasmine Fiore murder story would end with Ryan Jenkins found hanged in a motel room. A number of bloggers and commentators predicted that Ryan Jenkins would kill himself, in fact. Ryan Jenkins was found dead in the Thunderbird Motel, which is located on the outskirts of Hope, British Columbia. He was reportedly found hanging from a bar of a coat rack by a belt.
But the apparent suicide of Ryan Jenkins is not the final chapter in the Jasmine Fiore murder story. According to the Associated Press, Ryan Jenkins checked into the Thunderbird Motel with a mysterious blonde woman.
Kevin Walker, the manager of the Thunderbird Motel, told the Associated Press that Ryan Jenkins and the mysterious blonde woman arrived at the motel on Thursday in a Chrysler PT cruiser with Alberta license plates (Jenkins is from Calgary, Alberta). The woman paid cash for three nights while Jenkins remained in the car. Walker describes the woman as a blonde in her early 20s; he told the Associated Press that she was “naturally pretty, one of those wholesome little ladies.”
Walker says he never saw the woman again and that the tenant in the room next to Jenkins’ room says that the woman only stayed for about 20 minutes or so.
So who is this mysterious young blonde woman? Is she a family member (some have speculated that Jenkins’ family was hiding him)? Did she know that the Thunderbird Motel would be Ryan Jenkins’ final resting place? Did she assist him with his suicide? How much of a “wholesome little lady” is she?
I’m sure law enforcement authorities are very eager to have a chat with this mysterious young blonde woman.
Meanwhile, that Ryan Jenkins has been found dead is welcome news to those who believe in the death penalty. Indeed, for some, the most sensible thing Ryan Jenkins has done recently is kill himself. For he is suspected (does anyone really believe that he didn’t do it?) of committing an abominable, heinous murder. He is suspected of strangling his ex-wife Jasmine Fiore to death, mutilating her body (cutting off her fingers and yanking her teeth to impede identification) cramming her body into a suitcase and tossing it into a dumpster.
This is one seriously sick individual.
And if Ryan Jenkins had been apprehended alive and extradited to California, he would not have faced the death penalty. According to multiple reports, Orange Country prosecutors assured Canadian authorities that they would not seek the death penalty, and thus the most severe form of punishment that Jenkins could have received was life in prison without the possibility of parole.
Thus, by killing himself, Ryan Jenkins has satisfied proponents of the death penalty and saved California taxpayers the money it would have cost to house him in prison. (Jenkins, who was only 32, could have live conceivably lived another 60 years.)
It’s a two for one deal.
