Christmas is almost here so it’s fun to involve your children in making crafts during their spare time. Here are three wonderful Santa craft ideas that are fun to make.
1) Paper Mache Santa Head Box
Here are the supplies that you will need.
a) Strips of paper mache that are white in color
f) White hair purchased at a Crafts store specifically for a Santa decoration. All craft stores sell bags of this and so do most stores that sell cloth for crafts. When I was a child my mom used angel hair but you don’t want to do that nowadays since Angel hair was spun glass. Now you can simply buy bags of cheap white hair for Santa.
g) Red felt. Purchase a yard so you have enough to fashion a hat
h) A white PomPom end for Santa’s hat.
j) Glue such as Elmer’s
Blow up your balloon. Prepare your paper mache paste by adding two parts water to one part flower. Take your paper mache strips and begin to cover the balloon with the paper mache. Cover the entire balloon thoroughly. Don’t do it too thickly or it will not dry but make it sturdy. Compress the base of the balloon down when the paper mache is applied so that the balloon sits upright. This can be done once the wet paper mache is on the base f the balloon. You will want the paper mache to dry with the balloon in an upright position so it not a complete ball.
Once the paper mache is completely dry take your scissors and cut a hole in the very top. Remove the top of the head. This is the lid to the box and it will serve as where you apply the hair to Santa’s head and the Santa hat. Remove the contents of the popped balloon from the interior of the paper mache bowl.
Now take the very top of hat had that you cut off and apply the white hair with glue. Once this is done begin to fashion a Santa hat using the red felt. Remember to attach your white pompom to the end of the hat with glue.
Now begin to paint the Santa face and attach the flowing hair for a beard using glue. Once this is done replace the hat/lid and your Santa bowl will be complete. Remember that this is not extremely sturdy so you cannot heavy things inside of it but you can utilize it for light items. Children adore making these paper mache Santa heads.

3) Santa Refrigerator Magnet
a) Magnetic strips from any Craft Store or Walmart craft section.
b) White felt, red felt, peachy felt
d) Google eyes.
g) cotton balls
Cut out your felt for Santa’s head. use a round piece of peach felt for his head. Fashion a hat from the red felt and use the white felt to make a flowing beard. Children prefer to use cotton balls instead of the white felt for Santa’s beard. Glue all of these together lightly. Use small google eyes for his eyes.
