Saving money on printing supplies is a lot like saving money on anything else these days. I’ve been stocking up on new paper and ink for the coming semester and the prices and office supply stores as well as electronic stores are completely outrageous. What I’m going to tell you next may seem obvious to some, but others it may be a strange idea. When you shop online for printing supplies, you will be able to find the absolute best price after a maximum of 10 minutes of bargain hunting. While some remain skeptical of eBay, when you find trusted sellers, you’ll really be impressed by how well they run their businesses. The fact is many wholesalers on eBay make a living selling office supplies, and as a result there are constant price wars.
Still not convinced?
If you’re still being wary of being scammed or tricked on eBay, this is the general rule that I use:
Sellers that have feedback scores of 99% positive and more as well as having more than 30 items sold can usually be very trusted. Keep in mind that there are a few bad apples out there who will give these Sellers negative feedback for something silly like taking an extra day to ship. You’ll be able to spot scammers from a mile away, these are generally people with very low positive feedback percentages, and very sketchy and not too clear item descriptions. EBay is literally a simple as signing up for a PayPal account and an eBay account and then clicking bid or buy.
Finding printer paper is very simple. Always got to do is type “printer paper x by x” and then fill in those x’s with the size you’re looking for.
Finding an ink cartridge for your particular printer is a little tougher. Type in the model number of your printer followed by ink cartridge black, or ink cartridge color.
You’ll be able to compare the different items by how quickly you can get them, how cheap they are, and so forth. There is a nice little drop-down menu for this that is very easy to find when you search for items.
Using this extremely simple technique you should be able to save 50% or more on your printing supplies. The cartridges for my printer usually cost about $30 each, but I’ve been able to find them on eBay for $10 each from very reputable sellers.
This is a method for really saving money in the bigger things. Before school starts this fall, keeps this little trick in mind before forking over tones of money at your local office supply store for the exact same products.
