Are you going to be a vampire, zombie or monster for Halloween and need a scary looking hairstyle? Hairstyles for Halloween can be really fun. You can make your hair different colors, add various textures, or even tease it up to appear knotted and frizzy looking. What makes a scary Halloween hairstyle? The hairstyle itself can be quite scary, but the face makeup is what really makes your hairstyle appear scarier looking, especially if you have a very pale white face with some fake blood coming out of your mouth. If you just do your hair scary looking, some people may think you just rolled out of bed. If you really put emphasis on your Halloween hairstyle without the makeup you can still pull it off. I know some people who hate wearing makeup of any kind.
Some ways of wearing your hair scary for Halloween are by crimping it, sleek top and frizz out the rest, braids all over the entire head sticking out, completely teased and placed into a huge beehive sticking out of the crown area of head, or mix it up with braids, teasing, and crimping all at once. The messier the hair the better it will look, especially for a zombie or vampire. Here is how to do your hair scary for Halloween.
Step one- Make sure your hair is dirty. This means your hair should be at least 2 days old without shampooing it. When your hair is dirtied up with or without products this allows you to create more fullness, and gives you more control over the hair. If the hair is too soft you will have to work much harder, use tons of products on it, and have lots of patience. Wash your hair two days before. Make sure you apply your normal beauty products if any. When you go to bed, place your hair into a ponytail. This will help your hair have some more volume.
Step two- The day of Halloween wear, your hair in a ponytail until you are ready to get your Halloween costume ready. Take the ponytail out. If your hair is really curly, please straighten it out first by using a flat iron to get some of the kinks out. Apply some gel to the top section of your head including part of the sides. Smooth it out with a comb and make a part on either the left or right side. Place a barrette, comb, or bobby pin on each side to flatten it out. Spray with hairspray and allow it to dry for a few seconds.
Final step- Take a rattail comb and tease the rest of the sides, crown, and back area of hair as much as you can. Make sure to start at the root area then back comb it slightly. Do not comb or pull the entire teased section out. After you have teased your entire head spray with hairspray. Then place your head upside down and spray one more time. Stay upside down for 5 seconds and lift your head up. Your hair should look completely a mess, but that’s what you want.
Another scary looking hairstyle for Halloween can be achieved by using a crimper, hairspray, and flat iron. Follow the method mentioned above in step one. The day of Halloween or when you are ready to get dressed up take the ponytail out.
Step one- Place a small tiny bit of hair serum at the bottom section of your hair. Do not apply any on the top or sides it will be too soft for the hair crimper. Straighten the bottom section and the top section of your hair with the flat iron. To make it easier for you section the hair into thin sections and clip up the rest of the hair with a hair clip. Do this until you are done.
Second step- Section your sides. Do one small section at a time. Apply the hair crimper and crimp it. When you are done continue until both sides are done.
Last step- Take a comb and slightly tease at the root of each side. Do not tease the crimped area at all. Spray with hairspray.
