Seven people are dead at a New Hope Plantation mobile home in Georgia. In a case that is being kept tightly under wraps, police have confirmed that seven people have died in a northern Glynn County mobile home, and two additional survivors have been found critically injured. Exactly what took place in this mobile home isn’t being released, and the details of the case are being withheld pending autopsies of the people found at the scene. What the case has done is send a sense of fear through an entire community, where people still don’t know if this is an isolated incident, or if they should be afraid that a killer is still out there.
It was being reported by News 4 Jax that a family member called 9-1-1 just before 8:00 A.M. on Saturday after coming across the tragic scene, and that police arrived shortly thereafter. Police found seven people that had died as well as the two critically injured survivors, and began an immediate investigation into what exactly took place in that mobile home, and what led to the tragic outcome. Glynn County Police Chief Matt Doering said it best when he relayed that “it’s not a scene that I would want anybody to see.” He also went on to call it the worst mass slaying he had seen in the 25 years of police work he had accrued.
This is where the details of the case become scant at best, with almost nothing being released to the public yet. Doering wouldn’t reveal how the victims had died, whether the killer was among the dead, or if the possibility existed that there was still a killer on the loose. His ending statement certainly didn’t put the minds of people in the community at ease when he said that “Yes, they should be concerned, until this is solved; we all need to be worried.” The families of the victims have been notified of this tragedy, but that is where the information flow has stopped at this time, leading to many people fearing the worst; that there could be a killer amongst them.
This is a scary story for a community to have to deal with, and it is a tragedy that is surrounded with a lot of mystery still. The ongoing case is probably going to take a lot of man-hours in order to deduce exactly what happened in that mobile home, and why seven people lost their lives as a result of what took place. The community surrounding this park certainly wants fast answers, but unfortunately there may be several sleepless nights as people in the area come to grips with this event. The police are definitely going to under additional pressure to solve this case quickly, and hopefully for their sake, they are successful in that investigation.
