Life habits are very easy to form, but can be very difficult to break. In six easy steps, good habits can be formed and kept for a lifetime. This article will show you how to create good life habits and to modify the ones that aren’t so good. With a little bit of time, and lots of determination, you can shape your life the way you have always wanted it to be.
In six easy steps, you can set up a new habit, or modify existent habits. Want to stop smoking, drinking, or nail biting? These are examples of bad habits people often want to quit. One way to help quit these habits is to focus on five key areas in your life; areas such as career, finances, fun and leisure, health and fitness, and relationships. By setting up goals for each of these areas, you create daily habits focused on them.
Want to set up good habits, but don’t know how to develop them? First, make a list of all the habits you already have. List both good and bad habits. Don’t be surprised if you have more bad listed than good. The longer you concentrate on habits, the more good habits you will think of.
Once you feel comfortable with your list, consider the goals set for the main areas of your life and identify what actions need to be taken to attain them.
The third step is to list daily practices that will help perform those actions. Then consider ways to have these daily habits allowing them to be achieved. List two or three actions for each goal. Think of easy to meet actions to ensure completion.
Then, you want to think of ways to identify regular practices that will help you to perform those actions. Also, consider how creating a daily habit to support them can be achieved. Keep them simple and realistic so that they are fun and easy to reach. Listing unrealistic goals will often allow in frustration and ultimately the quitting of the goal.
Over the next twenty to thirty days, practice doing the things you have identified. Soon you will find that it does become a habit and you will start doing it without thinking about it. A good way to ensure you succeed is to use a journal or diary to list it as a task each day and then to mark it off as completed once you have done it.
Once you are sure that you have completely established this habit, you can feel free to move on to the next one on the list you created and repeat the process. Also, you may continue to add to the habit list whenever you think of them. New habits can be created and old habits changed throughout a lifetime.
This may take a bit of thought and persistence initially but very soon you will begin to see real benefits by creating good habits in your life. Then you can get back to eliminating the bad ones!
These six little steps will ensure good habits. If maintained, they can last a lifetime. Having good habits will allow a happy, fulfilled life for you and your family, and will also ensure good health and a positive attitude.
