Are you stuck at the Dallas/Fort Worth (D/FW) Airport? Or do you know you’ll have a long layover at the D/FW airport on an upcoming trip? There are plenty of ways to make being stuck at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport much more enjoyable than sitting at your gate, waiting for your plane. In addition to shopping and dining, your options include free power charging, spa treatments, renting DVDs and DVD players, and taking the kids to a playground.
If you are suffering an unexpected delay at the Dallas/Forth Worth airport, you may need to charge your phone or computer. Or perhaps you need to access the Internet? According to the official D/FW airport website, there are 17 “free power and free wired Internet” locations in the D/FW airport. You can find them located at A12, A20, A28, B10, B29, B35, C6, C20, C27, C35, D21, D23, D30, D40, E10, E14, and E36. If you are feeling stressed, and you have room in your budget, you can relax in a massage chair while you charge your electronic devices. The cost is $1 for 3 minutes or $5 for 15 minutes and includes headphones with music.
If a chair massage sounds good, a full spa massage might sound even better. If you have the time (and money) you can avail yourself of a range of spa treatments at the XpresSpa. Massages, facials, waxing, manicures and pedicures are on offer at each of the XpresSpa locations at the D/FW airport. According to the XpresSpa website, XpresSpas have “transformed a first class, upscale 5th Avenue spa concept into a successful airport spa wonderland”. XpresSpa has two locations at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport, located at A24 and D20.
If spas aren’t your thing, perhaps you’d enjoy watching a good movie. To help pass the time you’re stuck at the D/FW airport, you can rent a variety of DVDs. Don’t have a DVD player? No problem, you can rent portable DVD players as well. You can return the equipment at the airport, or take it with you and return it by FedEx shipment when you are done. Sound interesting? You’ll find three InMotion Entertainment locations at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport located at Terminal D, Gates D10 and D31 and Terminal E, Gate E16.
Are you stuck at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport with kids? You can take them to a playground or you can go for a ride on the Skylink. The Skylink is the train system at the D/FW airport that connects all 5 terminals. My kids love hopping on the Skylink to check out the dining and shopping options in other terminals. Do your kids have some energy to burn? Take them to one of the three airport playgrounds – Pepsi Junior Flyer’s Club located at B12 and C14 or to the McDonald’s Play Area located at D33.
If you want to spend your time shopping and eating there are plenty of options available. For shopping options click here or for dining options click here. Shop and restaurants hours vary at the D/FW airport but are similar to mall hours of operation. Being stuck at the Dallas/Fort Worth airport, or any airport for that matter, can be very upsetting, but hopefully checking out some of these options will make being stuck at the D/FW airport a little more enjoyable.
