Susan Elizabeth Baker is a babysitter. Susan Elizabeth Baker had a 7 month old baby under her bed. Susan Elizabeth Baker, James Baker, and the child’s mother Chrystina Lynn Mercer could face charges in the case, according to ABC News.
The babe found under Susan Elizabeth Baker’s Bed, Shannon Lea Dedrick, was unharmed. She weighed only 11 pounds and was 24 inches long.
Shannon isn’t the first child that has went missing under the care of Susan Elizabeth Baker. In 2000, a 3 year old boy went missing. The boy was Susan Elizabeth Baker’s son. Police searched everywhere for the boy, and he was never found.
Baker claimed that her son wandered off while she was napping. He would be 12 now, and the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children are still searching for him.
Susan Elizabeth Baker was also convicted of assault against her 6 year old daughter in 1987. She served 80 days of a 10 year sentence.
Susan Elizabeth Baker is related to Shannon Dedrick’s father. So far, the father is not facing any charges in the disappearance of the 7 month old baby.
A news conference is scheduled for later on today to discuss the charges that the mother faces in the disappearance of her daughter. What saddens me most in the story of Shannon Lea Dedrick is the fact that her own mother could have played a role in putting her in harm’s way.
Thankfully, Shannon Dedrick has been given another shot at life. She could have easily died stuffed in a box under Susan Elizabeth Baker’s bed, but she did not. This little angel is truly a miracle, and hopefully her father or whoever will be caring for her in the future will realize this fact.
Susan Elizabeth Baker must have some form of illness. She beat her own daughter, and is suspected to be involved in the disappearance of her son. Now, she went and kidnapped a family member’s daughter and placed her in a box under her bed.
The public in general is not happy with the actions undertaken by the three suspects involved in the disappearance of the 7 month old baby. The heinous act that includes both the mother and a relative is very strange. I have no clue what could have made the baby’s mother desire to be involved in the disappearance of her little girl. Babies are helpless, and it’s horrific to see those charged with their care take advantage of them or harm them in any way.
