Tennessee vs. Indianapolis could surprise some people on Sunday. The Tennessee vs. Indianapolis game pits the undefeated Colts up against a very hot Titans team it what could turn out to be one of the best NFL games on Sunday. The Colts come in to the game with an 11-0 record and the Tennessee Titans come into the game with a 5-6 record, but the record doesn’t say everything about the Titans that needs to be said. Tennessee has won five straight games since Vince Young was put in as the starting quarterback, and now fans are starting to talk about the possibility of winning out and making the playoffs.
The Indianapolis Colts clinched their division and with it a playoff berth last week, and it’s entirely possible that there will be a slight let-down by the team after that accomplishment. On the other side of things we have the Tennessee Titans, who aren’t even in the playoff hunt yet with a 5-6 overall record, and yet they could still stand a good shot at making the NFL playoffs this year if they keep winning games like they have. It a few games went their way over the next few weeks, it could potentially lead to Tennessee having an outside chance at the playoffs, but first thing is first, and they really have to win on Sunday against the Colts.
Tennessee vs. Indianapolis starts at 10:00 A.M. on Sunday with the game taking place on CBS. Both teams have nice winning streaks on the line, and both starting quarterbacks have been very hot this season. Last week though, with his team down against the Arizona Cardinals, Vince Young was able to lead his team on a 99-yard drive that was capped by a touchdown pass that won the Titans the game. The confidence of this team is higher than it has been all season, and with nothing to lose right now they could be really motivated to play their best on Sunday afternoon. That is the main reason why Indianapolis should fear this team.
Peyton Manning is having one of his typically spectacular seasons when it comes to statistics and has put up 3,415 passing yards and 24 touchdowns so far this season. They have tried to work the running game with Joseph Addai, but this is a passing team that banks on their defense making big stands against opponents. Manning will put up his numbers again against Tennessee, but they need the defense to step up once again if they want to stop Vince Young and potential MVP running back Chris Johnson. For Tennessee, look for them to press the running game and succeed with it. It will come down to the wire, and the first team to flinch is going to lose this one.
