Thankful Admissions of 10 AC Contributors

by sawpan

Thanksgiving is more than just gathering together and eating turkey and pumpkin pie (although both of those things are pretty darn good!). Thanksgiving is the perfect time to reflect on the many blessings we have been granted, and express what we are most thankful for.

Recently I sent out an open request on Facebook, asking the question, “What are you thankful for?” Several people responded, but the 10 AC contributors below reached me first and were kind enough to share their thoughts.

Kay Whittenhauer

“I’m thankful that (at the time I’m writing this) no one in my family is in the hospital. Hubby got out from his emergency quadruple bypass on Thanksgiving day last year, and Dad came home last week from a 6 week hospital stay because of nearly constant seizure activity. Yes, I will be VERY thankful to have the family around the Thanksgiving table (literally) this year.”

Brandon Myers

“To still have a job, a roof over my head, and that my recently unemployed wife is (attempting to, at least) learning to cook!” :)

* I’m being a bit silly here, but all of the above is true. – Cheers, Brandon

Lisa Carey

“I am thankful for how hard my husband works to care for our family. Today I was sent back in time as the woman in front of me couldn’t pay for her baby food with her WIC card, something was wrong. I have been there done that and I was so thankful that I could now spare the $4.00 to buy the jars of food for her and that my DH would actually be proud of me for doing it.”

Cristina Mohr

“I’m thankful for my family, friends, including my online friends like you ;-), that we live in a home in the mountains, that we’re moving forward in our goals, that my hubby has a good job and we’re making good income in a recession, my side careers are going.”

Tamara Waters

“I am thankful for my family. All of the things I enjoy would be worthless if it weren’t for the people I love. Every day I look at my three kids and thank God that I have them. There are plenty of other things I am thankful for – but my family is first on the list.”

Jennifer Waite

“I am thankful for my family, the health of my child, and my budding writing career. I’ve accomplished more this year than I thought I would, and I am so excited and grateful!”

Jenny Heart

“This thanksgiving is a special one for me. I was worried a few weeks ago I might not get to set across the dinner table from my dad. I’m thankful he has come through surgery and will be at the dinner table once again. I’m truly thankful for my family.”

Lynda Jean

“I am thankful for technology, cause it is enabling me to keep in touch with my kid at this time… and I am thankful for hope, for without hope right now I doubt I could survive.”

Jayanti Raman

“I am thankful to the almighty to give such good friends, such a nice writing platform like AC. Thank you AC for able to express my feelings. Thanks to my family for giving support to me.”

Mary Lynn Dvorachek

“I am sad but thankful that my Mom is no longer suffering with Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s. That she is now resting in peace and is once again whole and with her loved ones.”
