Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune
Uncharted is one of my favorite PS3 games, not only because it’s perfectly put together but it’s challenging, addicting and the perhaps the best game ever! I got it last Christmas season so I know that it’s a great Christmas gift for the PS3. It’s probably best for an older group of kids, most likely teens. Nate Drake is a treasure hunter who goes down to Panama in search of his ancestor Francis Drake’s ancient treasure. Of course it entitles way more than he thought and he ends up running into an annoying reporter and an old friend that helps him get through everything. You’ll experience killing everlasting mercenary pirates, collecting ancient treasure or perhaps escaping the evil clutches of some creatures later on in the game. All in all it’s a fantastic game.
SingStar Vol. 2
SingStar 2 made my best gift because it’s more interactive, and for those of us who prefer to actually interact with the game this is a great game. You can have up to eight players, you can download your favorite songs (aside from the ones it comes with), and you can even get the deluxe pack with a camera to mount on your TV in which you can make your own little music videos, share them with friends and it’s always guaranteed to give you a good time.
The game that now comes in an iPhone app is available on almost every gaming device.
Set back in Jerusalem in 1192 A.D. where the third crusade between the Crusaders and Saracens is tearing the Holy Land apart. This is where you come in. you are playing Altair, and he is a master assassin that is sent to find the Chalice, which will give them the ability to end the Crusades. You must steal the Chalice from the Templars before Altair’s life is put to an ugly and undignified death. So remember, you’re an assassin, sworn to secrecy, feared for your ability. It’s an awesome game.
Uncharted 2: Among Thieves
Of course, it’s the great sequel to the first hit game Uncharted: Drake’s Fortune which makes it all the better. Once the Drake loving crowd has gotten bored of game one, game two is now available. It’s a great game that mixes some arctic snow and palm trees. Nate Drake complains about the saying ‘Fortune favors the bold’. Unfortunately he finds out that his old enemies are still after him and there’s still some ancestry treasure to be found. It’s worth getting and if you want a great present you should get Uncharted 1 and 2 as a deluxe Christmas gift.
Batman: Arkham Asylum
The minute this game hit the shelves, everybody loved it. It was sold out, the posters were everywhere and it was being raved about. It has great fighting sequences and most would say that since you’re able to play the Joker as well as Batman it makes the game a lot more unique. Although some have been heard saying that the end is rather disappointing so don’t put your hopes into the theme of it very much. Good game for fighting sequences though.
Quantum of Solace
I can’t say that this is that great of a game but for the avid 21st Century James Bond fans, this game is definitely a great Christmas gift. It’s fun, there’s a lot of gadgets, he’s got cars and you can spray as much ammo into million dollar homes in this game as you like. Although I only really have one complaint about the game, the animation is slighltly early arcade game style. But don’t get me wrong if old animation doesn’t bother you, then this game is perfect.
