There are a lot of things we can learn from watching television. Sometimes we learn things without even realizing that at the time we are in fact learning. I have been an avid Horror Film fan ever since I can remember. From watching Nightmare On Elm Street, to IT, I love a really good scary movie. One thing I love about them is how they are able to teach the facts of life as well as scare the pants of you, now two birds killed with one stone, isn’t that great?
Some of the things to learn about life in general from watching scary movies are:
If you think you are being watched, then you probably are so get the heck out there.
Bring a spare tire always, this one is so true, whether in a scary movie or not don’t forget it.
The backwoods of anyplace are generally not safe to go to, unless you and your large group of friends are loaded for bear than just go to a beach instead.
In general a boy scout knife is a good tool and can come in handy at times, but if you really want to be prepared then bring something bigger, louder and meaner on those long road trips then you really will be prepared. After all a boy scouts knife does not hold a candle to an ax or a chainsaw.
For both men and women, wait until you are ready to have kids, make sure your partner is not evil first because you then might end up with a little devil.
Some of the things women can learn from watching horror films are:
Don’t run in heels, in fact if you know you are going to go to a lake house, an abandoned warehouse, a long car ride down an old dirt road or anything similar then high heels are probably a bad idea. If you get chased, you will fall down and be the first to get taken by the bad guys, or if you fall down and you get hurt and you are not being chased by horribly scary bad men then you will just become a huge annoyance to your friends who are just trying to have a good time.
Be a good girl, don’t put out easily, just in general don’t be “that girl” she always gets slashed/trashed afterwords.
Screaming will pinpoint your exact location so your friends can come and help you, or get themselves caught in the trap as well, you decide whether or not screaming is a good idea or bad idea based on the current situation you might one day find yourself in, choose wisely.
Alcohol so mentally impairs most women that they can’t usually figure out that might not be their boyfriend wielding his weapon in front of their face.
Some of the things one can learn about boys/men from watching horror films are:
They think with only their hormones enough said.
Women you don’t want to get caught in the backseat of man’s cars no matter how much they might entice you, the end results will not be pretty, most likely for either of you.
If an adult man lives with his parents it’s a bad idea to date him, but if he just lives with only his mother then run away as fast as possible. Never, ever think you can live up to mother, you just can’t.
Something to be learned about friendships from watching horror films is:
Stopping to help up the annoying friend will only result in harm to the helper, so unless you are strong enough to take it, or you really care something fierce for your friendship with the person then just run on past.
If you think about it you can pretty much learn all there is to know from watching all those scary movies on the television. So sit back and enjoy a scary movie tonight you come out ahead in life, or at least with your head still on.
