When it comes to the sexiest models of 2009, it’s incredibly hard to decide who should make the cut. This list of the sexiest models of 2009 includes some of our favorites year after year, including a few models that gave birth in 2009, as well as some of the sexiest fresh faces on the runway. So from reality show winners to actresses and new mommies, here are the sexiest models of 2009:
Lily Cole – This beautiful redhead isn’t just one of the sexiest models of 2009, but one of the sexiest actresses. She’s already gained a lot of fame over in England as a model and actress (as well as for posing in some controversial nude photos), and Americans might start to taking a liking to her as well when she stars in the upcoming movie ‘The Imaginarium of Dr. Parnassus’. The unique beauty looks a bit like a delicate China Doll (think Christina Ricci with even bigger, more wide-set eyes), and she usually rocks a head of fiery red hair. She’s one of the sexiest models of 2009 that really breaks the mold with such a different look, and it’s this uniqueness that could make her an even bigger star here in the States if her next movie project, ‘Phantasmagoria: The Visions of Lewis Carroll’, gets made. It’s Marilyn Manson’s darker take on ‘Alice in Wonderland’, and Lily Cole is definitely perfect for the part of a more gothic, ghostly Alice.
Marissa Miller – This is one of the many sexiest models of 2009 on this list that has rocked some of Victoria’s Secret’s sexy lingerie. She’s also posed for some nearly nude ‘Sport’s Illustrated Swimsuit Issue’ photos (I think it’s time the word “Swimsuit” was changed to “Skin” here; Marissa was just wearing an iPod in one of her 2007 photos!), and she’s no stranger to the many sexiest women in the world lists out there, topping Maxim’s in 2008. She’s also starred in a few TV spots, and got to rock Victoria’s Secret’s Fantasy Bra for 2009 in this year’s runway show (but she didn’t need that $3 million dollar to look like a $3 million herself). Plus she’s not just one of the sexiest women of 2009; she’s a good person, too, as an ambassador for the American Cancer Society. And at 31, I don’t think we’ll be seeing any less of this beauty, as she seems to be following the same beauty and fitness regiment as the next ageless woman on this list.
Heidi Klum – at 36 years old, Heidi Klum can still compete with the younger sexiest models of 2009 on this list, even after giving birth 4 times! There’s nothing Heidi hasn’t done, including being a Victoria’s Secret model, starring in movies, television shows, and commercials, painting, designing clothes and fragrances, and even releasing her own holiday song. However, she’s most well-known for being the host and one of the judges on the hit show ‘Project Runway’, and one of her most recent projects is very interesting: a coffee table book full of very artistic, nearly nude photos of herself. What I love most about Heidi Klum, however, is that she definitely seems like a real, down-to-earth person with a goofy side in the interviews I’ve seen her do, and I believe that being a genuine person and not just a self-obsessed clothes hanger is one of the most important qualities when it comes to choosing the sexiest models of 2009.
Adrianna Lima – And here’s another of the sexiest models of 2009 that has recently become a mommy. Curvy Adrianna Lima doesn’t just have one of the most amazing bodies on this list, but one of the most beautiful faces I’ve ever seen. She’s also a Victoria’s Secret model (no wonder it’s the most popular women’s lingerie chain out there!), and she’s another of the models on this list that’s no stranger to finding herself listed amongst the sexiest women in the world. She’s also well-known for being a very religious woman in a very superficial business, proclaiming to be a virgin saving herself for marriage and reading her Bible backstage. But as one of the sexiest models of 2009 (or of the past decade, for that matter), it’s safe to say she’s been the cause of many sinful thoughts.
Chanel Iman – Chanel Iman is one of the freshest faces on this list of the sexiest models of 2009, and one of Victoria’s Secret’s newest angels. She hasn’t had the time to develop the illustrious career of some of the models on this list, but she’s already had her fair share of photo shoots and ad campaigns. She has revealed that she can skateboard, so there’s a backup career for her if the whole modeling thing doesn’t work out, but seeing as she’s one of the sexiest models of 2009 and with a name like “Chanel Iman”, I think there’s a lot more in store for her.
Keeley Hazel – Keeley Hazel is definitely one of the sexiest models of 2009, although she’s a different type of model than the other high-fashion girls on this list and is much too curvy for Victoria’s Secret. But this hasn’t stopped her from becoming one of the most famous models in the world. She’s posed in nude photos for men’s magazines and starred in a nude scene in the movie ‘Cashback’, and it’s these types of appearances that have made this very busty girl a very famous face (and body). But she’s another girl that deserves more than just being named one of the sexiest models of 2009, as she has posed for a nearly nude PETA ad and backed a major breast awareness campaign. It’s always nice when models use their curves to do good.
Lizzi Miller – Speaking of curves, Lizzi Miller used her own to good in a very different way: making women feel comfortable in their own skin. When it comes to the sexiest models of 2009, Lizzi Miller looks quite different than the other women on this list, with a much fuller figure and (gasp!) some fat rolls in the photo that has made her incredibly famous. Lizzi Miller posed in an almost nude picture in ‘Glamour’ magazine, where she sat smiling in her underwear, letting her stomach hang out it all its realistic glory. Women have responded so positively to the photo that it seems that Lizzi may have started a women’s magazine models revolution (at least, I hope so!). So for being one of the sexiest models of 2009 by just being herself, Lizzi Miller is definitely one of my favorite women on this list.
Joanna Krupa – I’ve got to add Joanna Krupa to my list of the sexiest models of 2009 not just because she’s beautiful, but because she’s an incredibly talented dancer, too (she most definitely should have won ‘Dancing with the Stars’, that’s for sure!). The Polish beauty was once named the sexiest swimsuit model in the world by Maxim, and she wasn’t afraid to show off all of her beauty in a nude Playboy pictorial in 2005, something she’s repeating for the December 2009 issue of the gentlemen’s magazine. So while she may not have won the ‘Dancing with the Stars’ trophy, all men will definitely win this December, and she can still claim that she’s one of the sexiest models of 2009.
Kalyn Hemphill – Kalyn Hemphill hasn’t been a Victoria’s Secret model or posed for multiple men’s magazines, but she’s still one of the sexiest models of 2009. It’s easy to see why ‘Project Runway’ winner Irina kept picking this stunning beauty over and over again for her model muse; her sunny attitude and big smile are so endearing that it’s impossible not to love her. It was nice to get to know the models of ‘Project Runway’ in the spinoff show ‘Models of the Runway’, and it’s hard not to be happy that Kalyn emerged as the winner. She’s one of the sexiest models of 2009 not just because of her looks, but because of her amazing positive attitude and megawatt smile, and I hope we haven’t seen the last of her.
Nicole Fox – Nicole is definitely one of the shortest sexiest models of 2009, and the second-shortest shortest winner of ‘American’s Next Top Model’ at 5’7. She was also one of the most introverted and awkward, but the cute redhead’s natural high-fashion look ultimately helped her take home the prize. While she shares a last name with another woman known as one of the sexiest in the world, Nicole’s somewhat awkward, geeky girl-next-door look is much different than Megan Fox’s sexy and sultry one. Still, she’s an inspiration to shy, introverted, and “weird” girls everywhere, proving that even the geekiest girls can become models. And it’s Nicole’s different look and personality that helped her to win a spot on this list of the sexiest models of 2009.
So from fresh faces to those we still haven’t gotten tired of looking at, the sexiest models of 2009 are an interesting mix of women, and it’s nice to see some much-needed diversity in the modeling world.
