To me, little girls and Disney princesses (and fairies) go hand in hand. I dreamed of being Sleeping Beauty when I was a little girl, and my own little princess is no different. This holiday season is the perfect time to fulfill budding princess-fairies dreams, and below are my top five picks for gifts your little girl.
Tinker Bell and the Lost Treasure – DVD. The first Tinker Bell movie was a delight, and this second one is also a charmer, as Tinker Bell once again accidentally messes up and has to set things right. Already on sale, you can pick this up in stores for about $15.00. Other Disney Tinker Bell toys abound, including tiny figurines that are perfect for stocking stuffers, so if Tinker Bell is your little girl’s favorite, you should find plenty of gifts to shop for this season.
The Princess and the Frog – Doll. This adorable retelling of a fairy tale classic has some very funny twists, including a princess who is really a waitress and a frog that turns you into a frog, too, when you kiss him! This movie is due to be released on December 11th, leaving plenty of time for your little girl to whip herself into a frenzy over it. Disney Dress-Up Trunk. This gift contains everything she needs to transform herself (and you) into Belle, Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Snow White! It comes with gowns, hair accessories, necklaces, bracelets, rings and plastic slide-on shoes, 24 pieces in a little cardboard trunk. This gift is hours of play just waiting to happen. Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs – DVD. Disney’s original princess is back in a digitally restored version you can pre-order now, becoming available on November 24th for $19.99. I think this gift might be a little too scary for some of your smaller princesses, or maybe it just scares me, as my daughter informed me. We bought the Golden Book first and familiarized ourselves with this Disney classic first, so mom wouldn’t be too scared. I’m sorry, but this wicked queen is the scariest character Disney has ever created, no matter she was also their first.
