Top Ten Christmas Movies

by saw pan

Christmas is a cozy time of year, which makes it perfect to watch Christmas-themed movies. Here is my list of top ten Christmas movies:

Christmas Movie #1: It’s a Wonderful Life (1946)

Although the beginning of the movie is a little sad, the ending is very happy and I think the movie has a good message. It also shows the importance of family.

Christmas Movie #2: The Muppet Christmas Carol (1992)

I really love the muppets. And the muppets combined with a classic Christmas tale of an old miser turned jolly? I think that makes for a great movie.

Christmas Movie #3: Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer (1964)

This is one of those classic movies I remember watching every year on television as a kid. It is an animated movie, and it tells the tale of Rudolph.

Christmas Movie #4: Frosty the Snowman (1969)

I thought of this movie immediately after I thought of Rudolph. Another classic movie that I remember seeing on television every year, this movie is also animated, and it depicts Frosty’s story.

Christmas Movie #5: How the Grinch Stole Christmas (1966)

Going along with the theme of animated movies, I chose How the Grinch Stole Christmas. This is the animated version of Dr. Seuss’s book, and it is quite heart-warming.

Christmas Movie #6: A Charlie Brown Christmas (1965)

I am a big fan of Charlie Brown, and all of his movies. In this movie, Charlie Brown sets out to find the true meaning of Christmas.

Christmas Movie #7: Elf (2003)

I recently saw this movie for the first time, and I was pleasantly surprised. Will Ferrell does a really good job, and overall this is a feel good and funny movie.

Christmas Movie #8: The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)

Although this could also be categorized as a Halloween movie, it does have a Christmas theme. Jack Skellington, tired of Halloweentown, discovers Christmastown, and learns what Christmas is about. This movie also has a romance develop between Jack and another character, Sally.

Christmas Movie #9: A Flintstones Christmas Carol (1994)

The Flintstone‘s was one of my favorite television shows to watch as a kid, so of course I am a fan of the movie. In this movie, Santa is injured at Fred Flinstone’s house, and Fred and Barney have to deliver presents to all the children around the world for him.

Christmas Movie #10: Jingle All the Way (1996)

Starring Arnold Schwarnegger-the Governator-and Sinbad, this movie is about a father trying not to let his son down. It’s a funny action-type movie, and although I do not think it’s a particularly good movie, it is cute and there is a nice family aspect to it.
