Trellis Restaurant is one of the highlights on Roosevelt Island. Much like the local community of Roosevelt Island itself, it’s nothing spectacular but it’s small and sweet. Trellis Restaurant a basic diner with a friendly staff and a unique cozy setting. Being that it is practically the only diner on Roosevelt Island, Trellis Restaurant faces zero competition.
My family and I usually pay this place a visit at least once a month during the weekends as it is a very nice place to eat, far away from the noise that comes with Manhattan and many neighborhoods around New York City in general. This place is nowhere close to becoming the next IHOP or TGI Friday’s, but there’s definitely a bit of old school New York City left over in Trellis Restaurant hence it is an essential part of Roosevelt Island.
