This series is getting so good. It may be far removed from the books of Charlaine Harris but this season is such a surprise. In this episode, Jason and Luke are given the task by the minister, Steve Newlin, to build a platform for a special event. They will see a vampire “meet the sun”; this of course is Godric, the sheriff of Dallas that has gone missing.
Sarah the minister’s wife has doubts about her husband and seduces Jason in the church. I still don’t know if it’s for real nor is she part of the plan in luring Jason. Will Jason save his sister when he finds out?
Sookie volunteers to infiltrate the church and is accompanied there by Isabel’s human boyfriend, Hugo. In the book, Hugo really didn’t like vampires but was addicted to vampire sex. Somehow they are captured and taken to the basement. How did they know what she looked like?
The beautiful vampire in the hotel corridor is Lorraine. She was sent for by Eric and we glimpse into her memories of the past. She is Bill’s maker and was a nasty vampire. Lorraine and Bill are at a party during the roaring twenties and seduce the hosts. The couple is eventually killed and the vampire has sex on a bloody bed with the dying woman lying on it. Bill also gives Lorraine a necklace that belonged to the hostess who he just killed. A very gruesome scene to watch but these are vampires who were also predators.
Bill wakes up hearing Sookie scream and is surprised to see Lorraine in his room. I think really think Eric has something to do with Sookie being captured at the compound. It’s too much coincidence with him bringing in Bill’s maker.
Tara and Eggs are in the car on their way to buy a part for a water heater when Eggs becomes engrossed with where they are. He said that is way familiar but he has never been there before. They walk for miles after leaving the car in the parking lot of an old diner. They find old clothes thrown around and a ritual circle. They don’t know that except when they see a rock with old dried blood all over the rock. Now we piece together that the murder of Miss Jeanette. Her body looked like her heart was ripped out of her body.
When they arrive back at Sookies house they find clothes tossed in and around the back of the house. There is a massive orgy with Maryann in the middle vibrating.
Back at Melotte’s, Andy Bellefleur questions Lafayette on his 3 week absence. Lafayette doesn’t reveal where his been so Andy goes ballistic on him and causes poor Lafayette to lose it. He crawls down to the floor scooting back and imagining Eric’s face. Terry Bellefleur stands up for Lafayette. Andy forgets he’s not a policeman anymore. Andy has been drinking too much and see’s a boar running with a dog. He calls to the pig saying he’s seen it before.
Lafayette gets a visit from Pam. She delivers a message from Eric, he must sell V again. What is Eric thinking?
Now Sam has got it bad for Daphne. They lie on the pool table talking and Sam asks Daphne about her scar. She says she never saw what jumped her and that she was very sick after the incident. I have wondered about that since Sookie was poisoned by the gash that she almost died.
They laugh later with their encounter with Andy. Remember the pig at the party of Maryann’s? Daphne betrays Sam and has set him up for a sacrifice.
The next week’s episodes are going to be intense. I have no idea what is coming.
