My husband and I spend a lot of time in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio, and will sometimes walk around without a destination, just looking for new stores and restaurants to try. When we were in Cincinnati, we saw a store called Urban Outfitters, and I was immediately drawn to go inside. The styles of the clothing were unique, and I noticed that they had accessories, shoes, and things for the home. It’s mostly appropriate for college-aged students, but some styles are versatile enough to be worn at any age.
Urban Outfitters has a rather large selection of clothing items that are replaced often with new looks, and has clearance items available as well. Some of the items can be a bit pricey, so if you want to take the risk, try to wait until the items go on sale. It may be worth the wait!
Urban Outfitters has a line of jackets for the cold winter season, and are both affordable and adorable. Traditional peacoat styles are available, along with funkier asymmetric style coats. My personal favorite from the collection would be the Silence and Noise military style jacket. It is navy blue, and costs $138.00. Most jackets are over $100.00.
Dresses and skirts are popular at Urban Outfitters as well, and are likely more appropriate for the weekend versus the workplace. The hems are short and some necklines are rather low-cut, so be careful if you do choose to wear one of the dresses to work. Most of the color palate is muted, with blacks, greys, and dark blues, but there are a few brighter pink and light blue pieces available as well. I like the Kimchi blue print rayon dress that costs $58.00. As with most Urban Outfitters clothing, it is available in sizes XS-L.
Several sweater choices are also available from Urban Outfitters, in a wide range of colors that will bring a splash of color during the snowy months. Although the traditional cardigan and long-sleeved sweaters are part of the collection, they are anything but traditional. The cuts are asymmetric, some are see through, and some are partially backless. The Kimchi blue-marled tulip open cardigan is very wearable throughout the season and can be worn with a camisole or thin t-shirt underneath, and is $48.00.
Jeans are available for purchase, but most are very tight, and honestly, I don’t think they would flatter many women unless you have very long legs and a lean figure. The styles in this collection seem to cater to the 80’s, as even white jeans with black prints along the pant legs are available to purchase. Don’t believe me? See those jeans here, and remind yourself why some styles just aren’t meant to come back.
As previously mentioned, Urban Outfitters also has looks for your home, including couches, screen prints, toothbrush holders, bean bag chairs, and jewelry holders. Again, most of this selection would be college-age appropriate, as the styles are unique and funky. Believe it or not, they even have shower curtains, and I would add this to my collection if I had my own apartment. It’s $40.00, but would be a fun addition to a bathroom.
Urban Outfitters truly does seem to have something for every type of style, whether it be in their clothing collection, accessory line, or even in their music and book selection. If you’re looking for something a little different, visit Urban Outfitters either online or the next time you see one of their stores. You won’t be disappointed by the creative ideas inside!
