The love of my living, breathing father is one of the greatest gifts I’m truly thankful for this 2009. My father has been ill recently. He thought he was just having a few health problems that needed looking into. Little did he know his life was about to turn a summersault and mine too.
Through my lifetime I have always been close to my father. His faith in God always left me in awe. No matter how many trials he faces he did it with the faith that God would do what was best. His faith taught me about trust. For this I’m thankful.
Once my father lost his job when I was a young girl. He prayed about it and God bless him with a better job. Later God blessed him with a job in architecture. Through my life his life experiences have taught me to just rely on my creator. Who better to gives thanks everyday than to one who knows you the best? I’m truly thankful for my creator.
Many trials have come and sit on my porch waiting to see how strong or weak each one could make me or break me. My strong faith helps build my strong heart. For this I’m thankful. God repaired all my damage and placed me firmly on a firm foundation called hope. For this I’m thankful
This year many fires and tragedies have come upon my family, friends, and neighbors. Thankfulness fills my spirit this year with the true giving spirit. Having still my home with all my earthy treasured memories I’m thankful.
The war is still being fought. My loved ones who have fought in Afghanistan have returned home. They may have to return soon but they’re home now for this thanksgiving. For this I’m thankful.
Friends are hard to find. My friends have proved to be the best. These friends are of course the ones that I can see and talk about the good times and the bad times with as often as possible. My friends this year also include all my writing fans that have uplifted and supported me. For this I’m thankful.
Food is a necessity that many people have had to cut back on this year because of the failing economy. Many jobs seem to becoming available slowly but surely in my community. For this I’m thankful.
God is good! Let us give thanks to the one who created us all. We can all make a difference. I worked in an assistant living facility for a while and met many elderly people who truly opened my eyes about what turning older is all about. It’s about what they have to offer to us. For this I’m thankful.
I’m thankful to just be able to look around. Many people are blind and have to walk with a Seeing Eye dog just to get from place to place. I can see! For this I’m thankful. Many things unfortunate have happened to people this year and if I have missed having to suffer these ill misfortunate I’m thankful.
One of the most things that I’m thankful for is being able to stay home and write from my heart. My daughter has had a hard road to travel since she was a small child due to a bad virus that attacked her body. I’m home as of now helping her road feel a little safer. This daughter may have a disability but she has courage. Her fight for life is inspiring. For this I’m thankful.
I have another daughters. Both have taught me the meaning of thankfulness. My oldest is in the Coast Guard. She is strong like her rank in service stands for. Her strength of character shines through as she supports her husband in his field of service. She has taught me to look forward and never look back. For this I’m thankful
This year 2009 I’m thankful to be able help, and support the ones that I love and I’m thankful for prayer that God willing I may ask for many more years to come. For this I’m thankful.
