The End is Nearing: Christmas is Almost Here
With Christmas right around the corner, you might be getting a little antsy if you haven’t finished all of the Christmas shopping yet. You have gotten most of the shopping done, but you are stuck on one area. And it’s not the money that is the problem, as you have stuck to the budget you set out to do your shopping with. You aren’t out of time yet because there is still at least a few weeks left, right? So what on Earth could be the problem with getting the man in your life a gift?
Well, you honestly have no idea what he could possibly want, or you are too proud or stubborn to ask. Well, here is a solution that just might not only do the trick, but it might get him to do a few things around the house too (without even asking) because he will be so grateful. It’s OK, really, trying to figure out what a person really wants for Christmas can be a tough task to wrap your head around, especially if you live with someone who have just about everything. So what are you supposed to get them for Christmas? Here are a few ideas and possible solutions to your problem.
The Truth No One Wants to Believe
If you are shopping for a special gentleman in your life, three things are certain. He does not want a tie, a wallet or socks. So now you are probably thinking, “OK, no problem, I’ll just get him some nice cologne and he will love it, right?” Wrong, that is another thing he probably has tucked away in the same drawer with all the other played out “I get this every year” gifts.
What He Really Wants and Needs:To Get Out of the House
No, guys want, no they need, gifts that can be used over and over again. Something practical that he won’t be ashamed to show off, or something he is calling his friends about the very minute he unwraps it. What kind of gift would illicit that kind of response you ask? It’s simple. If the guy in your life likes sports, don’t just get him a jersey, get him the jersey and some tickets to go with it! Any guy is sure to absolutely love that someone bought them tickets to a game and any game at that. The only foreseeable problem with this type of gift is that tickets can actually cost more than a few house payments, even on EBay. And even there they aren’t guaranteed to be real. Especially if they are for the NFL. So instead, get some tickets to a hockey game. I don’t know any man that doesn’t enjoy watching guys beat each other up while sitting and freezing their behinds off in the middle of a blizzard.
A Little Love for Ole’ Betsy Can Go A Long Way
So what if, in that rare situation, you somehow have found a guy that doesn’t take well to sports? In this case, go for the next best thing. Buy him something for his car, truck or motorcycle. Anyone knows, even though they might not understand, the attraction a man has with their automobile is unmistakable and completely unbreakable. Anything you get him will certainly be appreciated. Just make sure it is not girlie in any way. Any man will tell you about the horror story when a woman in their life tried to take over and changed the playboy mats in the truck to ones with pretty roses and vines. It is not a pretty site and a definite deal breaker!
A Little Love for You Too…
Next thing on a man’s list of things he can’t live without, are a man’s tools. A man’s love affair with his tools is just as great as his love affair with his car. Think about it, the tools are used to work on the car, so why not love them just as much? Your best bet? Spring for a good set of socket wrenches, or maybe a set of screw drivers (flat head and Phillips head). On the other hand, maybe you could get one of the better, but not bank breaking, toolboxes that come with all the good stuff inside. If that were the only gift you got him this year, it would be OK because they usually come with 50-100 pieces inside. That will keep him busy for weeks fixing things up on the car and maybe even around the house too.
But What If…
If all else fails, or if he already has everything on this list, you might just want to ask the guy in your life what it is he really wants. His answer might just surprise you. If the two of you have children, he may just want some “quiet” time away from the house with you. If this is something you anticipate, then scratch all previous ideas and go book a mini-vacation with the best motel or hotel about an hour away from where you live. This will give the illusion of being away from home and the stress of life, without breaking the bank. Sometimes guys who are parents too think this kind of gift as the best kind, as it could even spark a renewed relationship between the two of you.
The End Is Here: It’s You
Now that you have a few ideas and a direction to work with, make the most of it by hitting the sales soon, before your number one choice sells out. Just take a deep breath, and be on your way. On the other hand, if you are thinking about the last option, make your calls soon as you don’t want to wait till the last minute and have the best Honeymoon suites booked full. That will cause undue stress and is the exact opposite of what you were trying to so in the first place. Just have fun and try to enjoy knowing that whatever you do get him for Christmas, he will love because it is from you.
