Christmas is such a wonderful time of year. There is so much to do from the dinner to the shopping. Sometimes though it is the little touches that make Christmas special; the beautifully decorated table or the well thought out Christmas cards. The homemade touches can be more important sometimes then everything else we have to do that time of year. Around the web there are a number of Christmas patterns and projects to help get you into the holiday spirit.
About.com
I really like About.com and I find that they often have something that I am looking for. About.com features links to a number of patterns and projects to help you during the holiday season from Reindeer Crafts to Christmas Tree Ornaments. I particularly like the printable Christmas themed pages for your kids to color, which is very nice to help get your kids involved in the Christmas decorating.
CraftIdeas.info
I find it a pain sometimes to find Christmas Patterns I like. It seems like every time I look for one, I get one that is close or similar to what I want but never just perfect. CraftIdeas.info provides three pages of Christmas patterns including ones for cross stitching. I love the snowflakes but the Christmas tags are nice too.
Ruby Glen
Christmas can be expensive. Once upon a time, my family bought for everyone. We had these big Christmas gatherings with everyone and exchanged gifts. Sometimes you were spending 800 US dollars just to make sure you got a gift for everyone. I completely understand why someone decides to just give 20 dollars to this person or that person, because sometimes it gets downright difficult deciding what to get someone and finding a good deal without breaking your bank. To show your family that you care for them, why not make something with your own two hands. Ruby Glen gives some wonderful ideas for some homemade Christmas Gifts for those that are artistically inclined.
Christmas Crafts
My mom was a little crazy when I was younger about making Christmas Decorations and other items. I have an entire box of homemade Christmas ornaments. It can be rewarding and fun not to mention it is something the whole family can do. Christmas Crafts gives you an opportunity to take a look at a large number of patterns and projects not just for yourself but also for your kids to make. Nothing says love more then having your children make a Christmas ornament for their grandparents.
North Pole Christmas
Ornaments, patterns, printables, blocks, you name it and the North Pole Christmas website has it. This is a wonderful site, not just because of the large variety of items but because they walk you through everything you need to make them. Sometimes you see something so cute and wonder how it is made and North Pole Christmas helps you out by making sure you know what you need.
Enchanted Learning
If you’re a parent or even a teacher, sometimes you want to give the kids an opportunity to make something for Christmas. I know my daughter is always bringing Christmas decorations home that she made in school. Enchanted Learnings gives you some very simple decorative items for kids to make. My daughter and son have both made the Brown Paper Christmas Stocking and have enjoyed it greatly.
About Christmas Crafts
This is a wonderful blog written by Kris who walks you through how to make beautiful Christmas crafts. Her blogs include ones on crafts for preschoolers to snowman warmers. I love the musical Christmas CD idea and it is one that I have found very useful. There are so many wonderful craft ideas in her blog and I am certain you will find one that will fit your needs.
Christmas-Projects.com
This website has it all from Crochet and Knitting patterns to Patchwork and Quilting. The fabric crafts are wonderful; I particularly like the felt snowman which you could easily make into very cute decorations. Every year we buy an ornament for each of our kids, its our tradition, and I think that those felt snowman would just be ideal for this years Christmas ornament.
All Christmas Crafts
Another great website is All Christmas Crafts. This website gives you ideas on what sorts of materials you will need to make Christmas craft items, crafts for your preschoolers, as well as crafts for the entire family. I really like that this site also because it gives you various links to other craft and Christmas sites around the web.
AllCrafts.net
I have to add to this list Plastic Canvas Christmas patterns because my mom has been making Plastic Canvas items for as far back as I can remember. My sister and I both got this adorable plastic canvas mailbox Christmas ornaments one year from her. While AllCrafts.net does not feature that mailbox, it features a variety of plastic canvas patterns for various holidays including Christmas.
