Glen Beck’s business is based on the dying planks of a showmanship that has a limited lifespan. While that may cater to Americans who like status quo, that definitely is not the voice of the future. You throw in some words like libertarian, conservative, liberal, communist, blah, blah, please some traditional supporters, presto you, got money. That is a one man show depending on one frail human being, nothing more than an endless musical chair – pleasing but no progress. And that ends with a human lifespan. Van Jones, despite all his disadvantages of being African American, has a firm footing on a futuristic technology plank which will outlive him. That means his base is not floating on just megalomania unlike his opponent. And his mission needs to walk the talk, not just talk the talk. With lot of technology walking the same road, it is not just one frail human being cranking an old musical box to passers-by who may throw some coins at him. As for the “abusive” expression controversy, before only a few people knew who Van Jones was and what he said. Now, many people know him because of the controversy and that he had the guts to call some self-styled American gods their real names. It all boils down to one thing: Whether you are with PAST? Or, you are with FUTURE? Future doesn’t simply mean a man called Barack Obama. He is a another President in our history who will rule this country for four or eight years, trying to do his job the best way he thinks it can be done. His opponents suddenly recoil at the sound of the word “future” because they associate it with the name “Obama”. No folks, he said only “change”. But the “future” belongs to all of us. Just because some people hate Obama or his party or race, it doesn’t mean they have a right to obstruct or destroy the “future” of this nation. In truth, opponents of Van Jones have inadvertently told the world that they may after all deserve the name he called them. Why? While supporters of Glen Beck may thump their chests in victory, the controversy and the subsequent resignation has provided a FREE MULTIMILLION DOLLAR ADVERTISEMENT for the future of Van Jones’s mission in life. More than two birds in one shot! By catapulting him to a “crucified messiah” -of-the-future image, his opponents have afforded him a multimillion dollar personal advantage as he travels the road of the future, frequented by technology giants. And where will Beck be? He will still be facing the same microphones, talking the same old rhetoric. A classic case of one person’s short-sightedness becoming another person’s far-sightedness!
