There’s no other time of the year quite like Halloween. The leaves have all changed, the night creeps in earlier, and there’s an unexplainable energy in the air. Halloween is a fun time to check out haunted houses, hayrides, and eat all the candy you want. But why should you celebrate it alone? Grab your boyfriend/girlfriend and head out for a night of mischievous fun. There are a lot of things to do on Halloween that can easily become a Halloween date when you include that someone special.
Halloween Date Idea #1: Go To A Haunted House Attraction
Haunted houses are a great Halloween date. The time that you’re standing in line can be used for conversation, whether you’re still getting to know each other or have been together for years. Then the fun starts when you’re finally in the haunted house. Ladies, this is an opportunity to make your man feel strong when you grab on to him every time something jumps out at you. Or you can laugh at your guy if he has a more girly scream than you. Guys, you can show off your fierce powers of protection if your girls gets too scared. Either way, haunted houses offer a lot of time for conversation, can make the both of you scream, and are an unforgettable Halloween date. If you don’t know of any Haunted houses in your area, check out the haunted house directory. If the two of you are feeling a little more daring, may I suggest checking out a ghost walk of a real haunted house in your area?
Halloween Date Idea #2: A Friend’s Halloween Party
If you know somebody that is throwing a Halloween party, this would be a great date for Halloween. Getting dressed up together and mingling with the public is a fun way to spend time anyways, why not do it as someone else for a night? If there aren’t any parties going on, there could be an event at a local bar or club that you can get a group of couples to go to on Halloween night. Check your local papers for adult Halloween events.
Halloween Date Idea #3: Scary Movies
Some couples may opt to go to the theaters to see Saw VI or Paranormal Activity. There is no dressing up in costume required for this Halloween date, which makes it easy and fun. But if you don’t want to go to the theater, you can always hold your own scary movie marathon. You can watch all your favorites or have a theme, such as vampires or zombies. Staying in to watch the scary movies has it’s own plus sides: You can eat whatever you would like without having to spend too much money and you can cuddle comfortably on the couch if one of you gets scared.
Halloween Date Idea #4: Hand Out Candy Together
If weather permits in your area, the two of you can sit out on the porch and hand out Halloween candy together. This is a great Halloween date for a couple of reasons; you get to see all the cute little kids in their costumes and you can share your own Halloween memories. Plus, you two get all the candy that is left over from the night.
Halloween Date Idea #5: Borrow A Kid And Go Trick-Or-Treating
You don’t have to borrow a random kid. But if either you have a niece or nephew that is still young enough to trick or treat, you can offer to their parents to take them around your neighborhood for the night. The parents may still want them to go in their own neighborhoods first, but would more than likely be grateful that you had offered to take their kid out for the rest of Halloween night. The kid will be happy because they get twice as much candy. And you and your significant other can wander around on Halloween night like you did when you were little.
Halloween Date Idea #6: Pick Out Pumpkins And Carve Them
A trip to a pumpkin patch can be a romantic Halloween date all by itself. But instead of letting the date end at the pumpkin patch, why don’t you both take one home with you and carve them? Not only is it great to make a big goopy mess of pumpkin seeds, but you get to see each other’s pumpkin carving skills at work. It’s more fun if neither of you are good at carving pumpkins, you both will get a good laugh at the final product. Plus, you can roast the pumpkin seeds and share them over apple cider when you’re done.
