On October 30th the new Wii Fit Plus made it debut with much fanfare but is it truly better then its staggeringly successful predecessor Wii Fit? Is it actually worth the price tag? The Wee Fit Plus does come with many added features but it is strikingly similar to the earlier Wii Fit. I think that if you already own the Wii Fit there is no reason to rush out and drop the extra money to purchase the Wii Fit Plus. It just does not seem to warrant the extra expensive since it is the first Wii Fit with a few extra touches that has morphed it into the Wii Fit Plus.
Many people who have been awaiting the release of Wii Fit Plus have mistakenly believed that this was a sequel to their beloved Wii Fit. As a true stand alone purchase the Wii Fit Plus is sure to please but for those already enjoying the predecessor and who wanted a true sequel then you will be disappointed.
A few of the added and impressive features of the Wii Fit Plus is the same wonderful exercise categories but no need to worry about unlocking each one. This is a plus in my personal viewpoint.
You also have an added bonus of actual calorie counting. You can also track the weight of a baby or a pet. I’m not sure if this is a very impressive feature or not but its an added feature. This new version does not abuse by calling and utilizing words like ‘obese’. But this only holds true for the children. Adults must face the cold hard facts with this program. It will not let you be delusional.
Wii Fit Plus does start out the same and utilize the same visuals but there are also new features which are quite nice. There are new routines that will let you raise your heart rate for a wonderful workout that is fun and exciting.
There is a multi player mode with the Wii Fit Plus which makes it nice for a husband and wife or siblings to enjoy. This gives the family an enjoyable sharing experience that is sure to bring fourth a few laughs and rib sticking.
You can also customize a workout program to fit your own needs. This is a wonderful added feature that is sure to make anyone happy.
Let me say that I’m a fan of the Wii Fit and now a fan of the Wii Fit Plus. I like a video game that gets children and the public up off their butt and actually moving. I have bemoaned video games for years as addictive and unhealthy as I watched my teenage step child cease any interest in outside activities as he became more engrossed in the world of PS2 and PS3. I felt it was unhealthy to sit there day in and day out. But with the Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus at least people are moving and using their bodies even if it is inside in front of a screen. And they are also interacting with the new Wii Fit Plus. Perhaps in the long run the Wii Fit and Wii Fit Plus will be beneficial because it will actually help people stay in shape and others to loose pounds that they would not otherwise have be motivated to loose if they had to go outside or attend a gym.
I have to say that the Wii Fit Plus is worth the purchase price if you do not already own Wii Fit.
You can purchase the Wii Fit Plus for around $90.00 at most retailers. I’m sure its going to be a hot item this holiday season so if you are interested in buying it I would suggest purchasing it early before sales become limited.
