The World of Warcraft is a multiplayer game. It is very important for any player to be the part of a guild for raids and assistance in the game. So if someone talks about leaving the guild, generally people think that it is not a good idea. However sometimes being in a guild becomes more of a nuisance than a facility. In that case, it is better to leave that guild and join a better one.
Leaving a guild is simple. One just has to write /gquit and that’s it. However, abrupt goodbyes are not recommended.
The players use two types of approaches to leave a guild in the World of Warcraft. The first approach can get you kicked out of the guild with a bad reputation. That is why I am calling it the wrong or the bad approach. The second approach can let you leave the guild with dignity and grace. So, for obvious reasons I am calling it the right or the good approach.
Rude or irresponsible behaviors can get you thrown out of the guild. Being rude includes that your character does not properly communicate to the guild officers and members. It would classify as rude or irresponsible behavior if your character starts dancing in a fight or crack jokes in tense situations. If you character shows up late at the meetings or the dinners and do not talk or behave according to the occasion then too this is being irresponsible.
Sometimes not giving respect to the guild master or the guild officers is also enough for them to force you to leave the guild. If a character is uses foul language or gives threats or revengeful statements after a dispute with an officer, guild master or even a guild member then too he/she can be kicked out of a guild.
Stealing and spamming can also get one kicked out of a guild. People who have been kicked out of the guild were found stealing from other gatherers and the guild bank. The spamming of the guild chat is also an unforgivable sin. If you do that repeatedly then too you will have to leave the guild.
If you are keen on leaving a guild then any of the above mentioned behaviors can get you out of the guild. However, there is a better approach.
If you are not satisfied in the guild then the first thing you ought to do is to try to fix the problem rather than leaving the guild without saying or doing anything. Talk to the source of the problem. That might be the member, an officer, or the guild master. Explain your problem in detail. Remain calm when they speak up. Sometimes the problem is immediately solved and at other times, one has to take help of a mediator. If you like the guild but you are disturbed due to the problem, then after the problem is solved you might even change your decision of leaving the guild.
If you have decided to leave the guild whether or not the problem is solved even then it is better to register your complaints with the concerned authorities. Afterwards, end on a good note. Meet all of the guild members keeping your poise before leaving. If you have good friends in the guild, then do not forget to leave your contact details with them.
Remember that keeping your poise will earn you a good reputation that would help you find another good guild. In the World of Warcraft, being a part of a group/guild is very important. So when you leave a guild make sure that you do not spoil your reputation to the extent that it becomes a problem for you when you want to join another guild.
