In this tutorial, I will show you how to apply envelopes to your photos in Zoner Photo Studio 11. If you are not familiar with envelopes, let me explain them a bit. Have you ever seen a white border over photos with a cutout of the photo? The cutout is normally decorated with a design. That is also known as an envelope.
To get started, you will need to open the photo you wish to apply the envelope too. Then you will need to select the photo by clicking it. Go to the top of your window and click the Editor Icon. That will open your photo in a new browser. This browser is known as your Editor Browser. Most of your editing will take place in this browser.
After your photo opens in the new browser, go to the top of the browser and click Effects > Envelopes. You will see a box open and this is where you will adjust the settings to get the envelope you want. Let’s go through the settings together and I will explain them to you.
The first section is the envelopes section. This is where all of the envelopes are stored. You can browse through the different envelopes and find the one you want to use. Once you find one you want to try on, simply click it. You can try on different envelopes to find the one that best fits the picture.
In the next section you will find the color section. This section will allow you to change the color of the envelope. Click the color box and the color palette will open. Find the color you want to use in the palette and click it. The box will close and you will see the changes take affect.
The next section is the transformation section. If you need to rotate your envelope, you can do so by dropping the transformation box down and selecting your option. The next section is the blur section. If you want to blur the envelope a bit, use this section to blur it. You can also invert the envelope by ticking the invert box. It’s kind of hard to explain how the invert will look, so you can tick it to see what it will look like and if you do not want to use it, untick the box.
The last section is the Scale section. The scale will control the size of the envelope. Adjust the bar to get the size you are looking for. Once you are ready to apply the envelope to your photo, click the OK button. That will apply the envelope and close the box.
Now you will need to go to the top of your browser and click File > Save Web Jpeg. When the box opens, give your photo a name and click the Save button.
